A Refractive Index Sensor Based on Four-Wave Mixing in D-Shaped Tellurite Photonic Crystal Fiber

Abstract In this study, we design a refractive index (RI) sensor using novel cadmium telluride photonic crystal fiber (TPCF). Based on four-wave mixing (FWM), the changes in RI can be accurately detected, and sensing mid-infrared region (MIR) achieved by detecting wavelength shifts Stokes anti-Stokes spectra caused of liquid to measured. When pump FWM lies normal abnormal dispersion regions TPCF, response idler frequency wave signal are analyzed numerical simulation methods. The results show that sensitivity as high 7692 nm/RIU with linearity is up 99.9% at 3380 nm. To our knowledge, MIR presented for first time study non-silicon PCF.
